Overflow Valves

To further protect your tank an overflow valve can be installed. This should not be used as the primary relieving device as it is designed to give a sealing of a liquid overflow stopping vapour emissions or liquid loss until a set point is reached.

It is usually mounted on the same nozzle as the pressure/vacuum vent with the pipework hanging down over the side of the tank but remaining within the bund. The valve should be installed in a horizontal position and the weight allowed to swing freely to give the cover room to open.
